In the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, India vs. Sri Lanka at Asian Games 2023, the women’s cricket team won the gold medal. The Indian women’s cricket team led by Harmanpreet Kaur has been very impressive and has shown very interesting cricket throughout the tournament.
The Indian women’s cricket team faced the Sri Lankan women’s team in the final match of the Asian Games 2023 at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, Hangzhou. It is to be noted that India won the toss and was divided to bat first, and while batting first, Indian women posted a total of 116 runs and 7 wickets in 20 overs.
The highest-run scorers from the Indian side were Smriti Mandana and Rodrigues. The former made 46 runs off 45 balls, and her total of 46 runs includes 4 fours and 1 six, for a strike rate of 102.22. Later, with her bat, she contributed a total of 42 runs on 40 balls.
The Sri Lankan team made a total of 97 runs and 8 wickets in 20 overs. Hasini Perera, Nilakshi de Silva, and O Ranasighe could manage to score in double digits with 25 runs, 23 runs, and 19 runs, respectively. And the rest of the Lankan batter could not make runs in double digits.
